Edge swims past Marlins

BURLINGTON — The Middlebury Marlins swim team was swamped by The Edge swim team, 302-110, in a July 6 Champlain Valley Swim League meet in Burlington. On Tuesday host Burlington Tennis Club topped the Marlins, 253-158.

Those setbacks dropped Middlebury to 1-3.

The Marlins’ July 8 meet at Essex was moved to July 27 in Middlebury due to safety questions at the Essex pool.

Against The Edge, Sadie Chance, Cassandra Bellman and Oliver Poduschnick each won two races to pace Middlebury. Felix Poduschnick and Constantin Bellman also claimed victories for the Marlins.

Versus Burlington Tennis Club, Marlins Cassandra Bellman, Sadie Chance and Constantin Bellman won two races apiece to pace Middlebury; and Fraser Milligan, Felix Poduschnick, Jorgen Pirrung, Natalie Rockwell, Oliver Poduschnick and Ava Schneider each picked up one victory.

The Marlins are scheduled to host Winooski on this Thursday and visit Vergennes on this coming Tuesday.
