Holiday guide: Midd Nib Bars, a dark chocolate treat, offered downtown
MIDDLEBURY — The Better Middlebury Partnership, which has organized some activities between Thanksgiving and Christmas, has another sweet thing planned for the holidays. Local merchants in December will be selling specially produced Midd Nib Bars, which are dark chocolate with gingerbread, toffee and pecans.
The bars are $10 each, which benefits the community building efforts of the BMP.
Each Midd Nib Bar comes with a golden ticket (sound familiar, Willy Wonka?). Keep your ticket and the MBP will draw winning numbers from the tickets on Dec. 31 and post the winners online.
The golden tickets give you a chance to win great local prizes valued at between $250-$500 each, thanks to the generous sponsorship of IPJ Real Estate.
Among the prizes are a gift basket of Vermont products from Vermont’s Own and a throw blanket from Sweet Cecily. Other things you can win include a Caleb Kenna photograph; stuff from Woodware, Vermont Field Sports and Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op; and a game night package from Green Peppers and the Tinker & Smithy game shop.
Midd Nib Bar details are coming ASAP to the experiencemiddlebury.com website.
“It’s a perfect stocking stuffer that also helps the community … win-win,” said Karen Duguay, executive director of the BMP. “Plus I got to sample one (OK, two), and they are delicious.”
