Letter to the editor: Bray thankful, also hopeful
To the Residents of Addison County, Huntington, and Buel’s Gore,
I want to thank you for returning me to office with the strongest vote I have ever received. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to work on behalf of everyone here, not just those who voted for me.
In this time of ongoing turmoil, there is a great deal of work to be done:
• In the short-term, continuing to respond to the COVID pandemic by supporting public health and safety in schools, workplaces, childcare centers, while also rebuilding our economy; and,
• In the long-term, tackling climate change in a manner that will save Vermonters money, create clean energy jobs, and reduce damaging pollution.
We must also support education, to open the door to all into a lifetime of opportunity; support social and criminal justice reforms, to live up to our ideals of equality; and support environmental reforms, to protect clean air, water, and our natural resources — they are the foundation of a truly healthy place to live.
By pulling together, we build a more loving community in which we see the best in each other, and we also make truly enduring progress.
There is so much work to be done — right now. And while we face many challenges, I believe we could not be luckier than to be alive at this remarkable moment, as we come together to write the next chapter of Vermont history.
With appreciation to all,
State Senator Chris Bray
