Sodbusters host State Championship Doubles Horseshoe Tournament

BRISTOL — The Sodbusters Horseshoe Club in Bristol hosted the Vermont State Championship Doubles Horseshoe Tournament at their home courts near the Bristol Recreation Fields on Sunday, Aug. 30. 
The team of Georgia McCormick and Jennifer Bessette won the Class A competition with a 7-0 record; they scored ringers on 40.48% of their pitches.
Fourty-five pitchers competed. 
The results, including win-loss record and ringer percentage, were:
Class A: 1., McCormick/Bessette, 7-0, 40.48; 2., Gonvay/Santor, 4-3, 34.05; 3., Cassidy/Martin, 3.5-3.5, 32.38; 4., Greene/Cross, 3.5-3.5, 30.48; 5.,Simmons/Bessette, 3-4, 30.00; 6., Pelletier/No Show, 3-4, 32.14; 7., Santor/Ratta, 3-4, 25.24; and 8., Brown/Baird, 1-6, 26.90.
Class B: 1., Paradee/Kinner, 5-1, 26.11; 2., Gordon/Trayah, 5-1, 25.56; 3., Draper/Little, 3-3, 26.67; 4., Wood/Bushey, 3-3, 20.56; 5., Coleman/Hill, 2-4, 25.00; 6., Young/Mentiply, 2-4, 13.33; and 7., Ross/Cousino, 1-5, 21.67.
