Ralph Myhre golfers excel on state stage
MIDDLEBURY — Ralph Myhre Golf Course members were busy in statewide competitions last week, including at a Vermont Junior Stroke Play tournament held on their home course on July 31.
In that event two golfers with the Middlebury club earned second-place finishes, Lucas Politano in the boys’ 10-to-14-year-old competition, and Mia Politano in the girls’ 16-to-18 tournament.
On July 28 a number of Ralph Myhre members competed in a Vermont State Women’s Golf Association tournament at the Lake St. Catherine Country Club.
Erika Politano tied for second-place gross in the top flight, and Mia Politano tied for seventh-place gross in the top flight.
In Flight 2, Nicole Laberge finished with the fifth-best gross score, in Flight 3 Sue Dula had the third best gross score, and in Flight 4 Giselle LaFleche had the third-best gross score.
In Flight 2 Eva Mastalos tied for second for the best net score, and in Flight 4 Eileen Sims tied for second for the best net score.
In regular weekly Ralph Myhre competitions, the team of Jesse Wing, Wade Provencher, Ben Andrews and Dave Andrews prevailed in the Wednesday Scramble.
In Bill Davidson Thursday Men’s Golf, the foursome of Paul Politano, Fred Belanger, Matt Biette and Douglas Biklen came out on top, with the quartet of Chris Prickitt, Mike Schoenfeld, Dayton Wakefield and Marsdin Van Order taking second.
In the Friday Mixer the winners were Jill Jesso White, Dale White, Jim Hadeka and Deb Hadeka.
