Letter to the editor: Zuckerman is the governor we need in these times
David Zuckerman is the best person for the job of Governor. David has a great understanding of the workings of government due to his nearly 20 years of service as a representative, senator and as our current Lt. Governor. He is a farmer, so understands the agricultural nature of our state and what it is like to run a small business. David truly understands the needs of working families in Vermont and he is committed to the needs of working people in Vermont. As the director of a nonprofit that works with families, I know that David Zuckerman is the Governor we need to support working families and help them to thrive.
David cares about people. He cares about the land. His record on these issues is strong. He has supported protecting the environment. David supports an increase in the minimum wage. He is strong on issues of social and economic justice. He understands the importance of education and care for young children and for all Vermonters. He has been supporting these issues in Vermont for the past 20 years, which is why David is best suited to lead Vermont out of this current crisis. We need a Governor that will not just react to a problem, but have the courage and vision to address issues before they become a crisis.
As a woman, I am proud to give David my support over any other candidate for governor. He is intelligent, he cares, and most importantly, he listens. I feel that he represents my needs and the needs of my family in the state more than any other candidate.
I urge you to join me in supporting David Zuckerman for Governor in the Aug. 11 Democratic Primary.
Please vote. It is so important to our democracy.
