WomenSafe releases new Mother’s Day card

“READING HOUR” BY Mary Morris has been chosen for WomenSafe’s Mother’s Day card this year.

MIDDLEBURY — WomenSafe is now offering the 2020 Mother’s Day card as part of its annual Local Artists Series. Addison County artist Mary Morris’s graphite and ink artwork “Reading Hour” is the selection for this year’s card.
The image on the card exudes warmth and inclusiveness WomenSafe appreciates how it highlights that the written word has not been lost in these busy, technological times. There is something comforting about a family gathering around a book adoring the illustrations and cherishing the time together. “Reading Hour” was inspired by Morris’s love of her children and grandchildren along with her joy of the written word.
Purchasing the card to honor mothers helps people who may not be safe this Mother’s Day. There are a few ways to donate:
•  Mail a donation to WomenSafe at P.O. Box 67, Middlebury, VT 05753, along with the name(s) and address(es) of your chosen honoree(s).
•  Visit womensafe.net/mothers-day-card-form to fill out a webform and complete a donation online. This year WomenSafe is also offering an eCard option.
WomenSafe will acknowledge the gift by sending the card to honorees. In addition, each donation of $100 made during the Mother’s Day fundraiser will be entered to win this year’s artwork, which Morris donated to WomenSafe.
