Mt. Abe’s Kelliher named player of the year

EAGLE SENIOR LIAM Kelliher attacks against VUHS while facing tough defense from Commodore senior Luke Bergmans. Kelliher’s scoring and all-around play earned him Lake Division Player of the Year Honors and helped a likeable Mount Abe team be competitive in almost every game.

ADDISON COUNTY — Ten area boys’ high school basketball players earned postseason recognition.
Mount Abraham senior forward Liam Kelliher was named the Lake Division Player of the Year, and Middlebury senior swingman Tyler Buxton joined Kelliher as a Lake First Team All-Star. 
Vergennes forward Kevin Jackson made the Lake Second Team. 
Another seven players earned honorable mention. 
Otter Valley’s Parker Todd and Dylan Gaboriault received honorable mention from the Southern Vermont League’s B Division. 
Receiving honorable mention from the Lake Division were Tigers Gabe Dunn and Karic Riche and Eagles Henry Cogswell, Quincy Cook and Griffin Paradee. 
Finally, although the annual North-South Senior All-Star Games were not held this winter, three players were selected.  
The Division I/II South boys’ roster included Buxton and Kelliher, and Middlebury’s John Howe had been set to coach the team. 
The Division III/IV North boys’ roster included Jackson.
