Hoop scribes to speak at Middlebury College

MIDDLEBURY — Four of the nation’s most respected basketball observers will gather at Middlebury College on Wednesday evening, Jan. 15, to talk about their favorite sport in an event that is free to the public.
A panel discussion in Room 216 of McCardell Bicentennial Hall will feature Jackie MacMullan of ESPN, Bob Ryan of The Boston Globe, and longtime Sports Illustrated writers Jack McCallum and Alexander Wolff, the latter of whom is also known as a Cornwall resident.
Billed as a “A Night of Hall of Fame Hoops,” the panel discussion offers four winners of the Basketball Hall of Fame’s Curt Gowdy Media Award.
According to promotional materials, the quartet, who will bring a combined almost two centuries of experience covering basketball to the evening, will “address the state of the game, swap stories and take questions” at an event that will begin at 7 p.m.
