BBA field hockey tops OV in OT
BRANDON — Visiting Burr & Burton, a Division II finalist in 2018, edged the Otter Valley Union High School field hockey team on Tuesday, 3-2 in overtime.
Bulldog Riley Callen scored the game-winner in the first minute of the extra session, and BBA goalie Hannah Callen was credited with 22 saves in keeping the Otters at bay.
The Bulldogs jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes on goals by Celsey McMahon and Perrin Marion.
OV Coach Stacey Edmunds said the Otters “found their composure and came back swinging in the second half.”
Ryleigh LaPorte scored from an Alia Edmunds pass in the second minute, and Edmunds tied it up a minute later with a assist from Alice Keith. OV goalie Ellie Ross made eight saves.
OV hosts Rutland on Saturday at 11 a.m.
