Robert B. Bingham, 89 of Cornwall

ROBERT B. BINGHAM

CORNWALL — Robert B. Bingham 89, died Sunday, July 28, 2019, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness.
He was born in Cornwall Oct. 22, 1929, the son of Albert R. and Carrie I. (Boardman) Bingham.
Bob was a graduate of Middlebury High School class of 1947.
He married Marolyn Brooks on June 16, 1951.
Bob was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and an associate member of the Cornwall Congregational Church, the Small City Steppers of Vergennes and the Green Mountain Boys 4-H and co-leader with Marolyn of the Cornwall Calf and Conservation 4-H.
Bob will be remembered as a long-time farmer, 4-H leader, and Porter Hospital volunteer and for his generosity, ready smile and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Joan Bingham, of Cornwall, by his children, William Bingham, of Shoreham Brenda Deering and husband Paul, of Weybridge, and Christopher Bingham and wife Dianne, of New Haven, by his four grandchildren, Nathan Bingham (Bethany), Travis Bingham (Ashley), Mark Deering (Liz), and Chelsea Bingham and his four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Jr., Marolyn, Jamison, and Michael. He is also survived by his step children, Stephen Payne, Bruce Payne, David Payne, James Payne and Susan Bruce.
He was predeceased by his parents, by his wife, Marolyn Bingham, who died June 9, 2002, and by his brother Albert R. Bingham Jr.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon on Saturday, Aug. 3, at noon, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Middlebury, with the Rev. Luke Austin as the celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Cornwall Congregational Church will the Rev. Mary Woodman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Addison County 4-H Foundation in care of Martha Seifert at U.V.M. Extension, 23 Pond Lane, Suite 300, Middlebury, VT 05753.
