Learn to make paper hats at the Sheldon on Aug. 11

ARTIST DAWN WAGNER created this hat out of paper. She will be lead a paper hat-making workshop for kids at the Sheldon Museum on Sunday, Aug. 11, from 1:30-3 p.m. Kids can then wear their hats at the Mad Hatter Tea Party following the workshop.

MIDDLEBURY — A Mad Hatter Tea Party and Hat Workshop is coming to the Sheldon Museum on Sunday, Aug. 11, from 1:30- 3 p.m. Artist Dawn Wagner will conduct this fun-filled afternoon of extraordinary paper hat-making, offering a chance for families to celebrate summer and enjoy the beauty of the Sheldon Museum’s garden.
Children will create up-cycled masterpieces perfect to wear to the Mad Hatter Tea Party that afternoon. Tea will be served in the garden, weather permitting. Wagner, who currently resides in Vergennes, left Addison County to pursue a career in theatre stagecraft in New York City. She worked on Broadway and NYC for several years before returning to Addison County.
All necessary materials will be provided.  Appropriate for age 5 and up accompanied by an adult. Cost is $10 per child. Space is limited. Reserve and pay in advance by calling the Sheldon at 802-388-2117.
