New voices come to Mahaney stage
This Friday, Jan. 11, a new music series kicks off at Middlebury College. Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Matthew Evan Taylor (pictured) is hosting several free events from now into April that highlight the ongoing contributions of women and people of color to the canon of Western art music.
Opening night features music by Taylor — a classical composer and a free improviser on saxophone, flute and piano — and his mentors in the program “The Mentors Among Us.”
Friday night’s concert will be at Mahaney Arts Center in Robison Hall. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the concert starts at 8 p.m.
Arts+Leisure will follow this series, so stay tuned for more info.
