HOPE seeking help with Christmas toy drive

Empty stocking
HELPING OVERCOME POVERTY’S Effects is kicking off its 2018 charitable toy drive this Thursday and Friday, Sept. 20 & 21, with a sweet deal. Eat at one of the listed Middlebury and Bristol “dining partners” on either of those two days and receive a free special treat if you bring in a new, unwrapped toy that will be made available, for free, to children from low-income families through HOPE’s holiday gift shop on Boardman Street in Middlebury.
Mary’s at Baldwin Creek in Bristol and Two Brothers Tavern in Middlebury will both be offering a free dessert to diners bearing toys, Bristol Cliffs Café will offer a free espresso drink, Mister Ups Restaurant will offer a free Cookie Skillet or Mud Pie, and Rosie’s Restaurant will provide a free small sundae. Local shops Kinney Drugs, Recycled Reading, Vermont Book Shop and Tinker and Smithy all have lists of items in stock for you to choose from.
