Letter to the editor: Letter carriers really delivered on recent food drive

On behalf of all the people in our community who are food insecure, THANK YOU to our local Letter Carriers Association for their tireless efforts to organize this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Joe Laramie and Victoria Gragg led an amazing effort this year that resulted in 1,819 pounds of food coming into HOPE’s food shelf.
This would not have been possible without their dedication to our community. Nor would this have been possible without the muscle and hard work of the many Middlebury and East Middlebury letter carriers who collected all the donated food on May 12. And of course, generous donations of food from countless individuals and families were essential to the success of this effort.
Thank you to all who distributed, filled, and collected those bright yellow bags. These donations come at a critical time, as our food shelf continues to be a much-relied-on source of groceries for families who struggle to make ends meet. We are all fortunate to be part of such a caring and compassionate community.
