Lincoln benefit a big success
LINCOLN — Brenda Staples, organizer of the “Rock For Roxanne Benefit” at Burnham Hall in Lincoln on March 2, reports that the fundraiser was a great success.
“I would like to thank everyone for coming out on a stormy Friday night and supporting Roxanne Smith,” Staples said. “Thanks to all those who attended as well as those who donated their amazing music, their time and energy, food, beverages and items for the raffle.”
Smith, a Lincoln mother of two young children, is battling cancer. The fundraiser featured music by BandAnna and The Welterweights. Prizes were raffled, including gift certificates from local businesses, a two-night stay at a Lincoln Airbnb and more.
Staples also expressed her appreciation to those who gave a monetary donation.
“We have an amazing community and I was overwhelmed with the amount of support and generosity everyone provided for Roxanne Smith,” she said. “Thanks go out to so many; there are too many people to list. Thank you all again for your kind support.”
