Letter to the Editor: Voiding of insurance requirement latest attack on ACA?

Republicans want to stop the requirement that all have health insurance. Insuring as many in a market is a concept that has been used for centuries. A bigger coverage area spreads the cost around to make it cheaper for everyone including those who actually suffer a “peril” or have to get an insurance payout. Insurers who covered floods and disasters are facing a disaster as not enough customers have paid in to cover all the disasters.
So, if I become a Republican, can I stop paying insurance that is required but I haven’t needed, like auto insurance. Imagine all the money car drivers could save if they didn’t have to buy auto insurance?
Or are the Republicans really trying to sink Obamacare, but hiding their intent and methods? If so, they are just continuing their “long Train of Abuses and Usurpations pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism” (that quote from the U.S. Declaration of Independence), while trying to hide them under cover of false stories.
