Addison Northeast schools announce their early release days

BRISTOL  — All schools in Addison Northeast Supervisory Union will have seven early release days this school year in order to give schools time to offer educators instruction on the most effective educational practices.
These early release days will provide time for professional development to happen within and across the seven district schools.
“As we transition to a single district the need to work closely together is greater than ever,” Superintendent Patrick Reen said in a press release. “Working together we can build equity in opportunity and outcomes for students. Working together we can support one another as we operationalize our strategic plan. Working together we can achieve great things.”
Addison Northeast’s early release days coincide with early release days in Addison Northwest School District (Vergennes) and Addison Central School District (Middlebury). This coordination is important because Vergennes, Middlebury and Mount Abraham union high schools each have students attending the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center. These common professional development days also open doors for future collaborative work with our neighboring school districts in Addison County.
The early release days are scheduled for Oct. 3, Nov. 8, Dec. 7, Feb. 7, March 29, April 17 and May 16. Dismissal times on the early release days will be as follows:
Bristol Elementary School, 11:40 a.m.
Monkton Central School, 11:50 a.m.
Lincoln Community School, 11:45 a.m.
Robinson Elementary School, 11:45 a.m.
Beeman Elementary School, 11:45 a.m.
Mt. Abraham Union Middle/High School, 11:30 a.m.
“I recognize these early release days have the potential to create challenging child care situations for some families and for that I am sorry,” Reen said. “Thank you for your efforts to make these professional development days a possibility.”
