VTrans offers help with stormwater

MONTPELIER — In a commitment to improving the quality of state waters, the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) has announced a new grant program to assist municipalities in their stormwater mitigation efforts.
The Municipal Highway and Stormwater Mitigation Program will have almost $6 million available to award. Grants funded through this program must have a transportation link. There is no program cap on the amount of funding granted to a specific project, however, there is a 20 percent local match requirement.
For more information and to find out how to apply visit: vtrans.vermont.gov/highway/Municipal-Highway-and-Stormwater-Mitigation-Program. Applications must be received on or before Aug. 15.
It is strongly recommended that an official representative of the applicant attend a webinar workshop to fully understand the requirements associated with federal aid projects. The workshops will be available through vtrans.webex.com. Two sessions are scheduled:
•  Session 1: Thursday, July 20, from 10 a.m.-noon.
•  Session 2: Tuesday, July 25, from 6-8 p.m.
For more information or for questions, contact Joel Perrigo with the Municipal Assistance Bureau Local Projects Group at 802-828-2583 or [email protected].
