Hole in one is the highlight of recent local golf action
ADDISON COUNTY — A hole in one at Neshobe Golf Course in Brandon as well as a new weekly competition at Middlebury’s Ralph Myhre Golf Course highlighted recent local action on the links.
Panton’s Ray Roberts on Sunday, June 25, sank the hole in one. According to witness Bill Laberge, Roberts aced the 140-yard, Par 3 12th hole with a 6-iron. According to Laberge, the ace was the second of Roberts’ golf career. Also witnessing the feat were Bev Roberts and Nicole Laberge.
Ralph Myhre on June 20 introduced its Tuesday Night Men’s Scramble, using the same random-assignment format as its Friday Night Mixer, a co-ed event (which was rained out last week).
The inaugural winning team was the threesome of Dayton Wakefield, Chris Prickett and Jim Twitchell, followed by the trios of Mike Adams, Hank Hagar and Dick Crumb, and Doug Biklen, Russ Reilly and Pete Damone.
Also, Matt Biette shot the evening’s low net score, and Deem Schoenfeld was closest to the pin on Hole No. 12.
In regular Bill Davidson Thursday Men’s Golf, the young foursome of Nick Leach, Keenan Bartlett, Cullen Hathaway and Connor Higgins earned top honors, with the quartet of Mike Adams, Ric Wheeler, Bert Phinney and Josh Newton taking second. The foursome of Griffan Gilman, Darren Kerr, Darren Ouellette and Adam Lougee earned third.
