Letters to the Editor: College students back good cause

In contrast to the somewhat negative occurrence at Middlebury College earlier this year was the Relay for Life fundraiser held on Saturday, April 22. Since 2004, the students have organized and run each year a highly successful campaign, gathering and celebration to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s medical research! In memory of lost loved ones, in support of those who are currently fighting a cancer, and in encouragement for those who are survivors, the volunteer students work very hard and give up considerable time — in spite of their demanding academic schedules — to orchestrate and carry out this worthwhile goal. Certainly they deserve our applause, gratitude and heartfelt thanks!
