ACTR informational meeting to be held April 5 in Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY — Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) will host a public meeting to share information about its forthcoming merger with Stagecoach Transportation Services Inc. of Randolph. The April 5 meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Transportation Center on Creek Road in Middlebury.
This public meeting, along with similar meetings in the Randolph/Bradford area, is to allow the public to gain a deeper understanding of the merger impacts and to ask questions. Each organization is taking a closer look at the proposed merger to make sure all questions are identified and addressed. ACTR and Stagecoach expect this process to be complete by late spring with a final vote shortly thereafter.
The merger has been preceded by a three-year partnership between ACTR and Stagecoach that officials from the companies say has brought improved services, higher ridership and greater financial stability. The merger will create a more streamlined, efficient organization behind the scenes with no changes to on-the-street services. In addition, there are no plans to change the unique branding of local services in the foreseeable future and neither ACTR nor Stagecoach anticipates any job losses.
Community members who need transportation to attend the meeting may call 388-2287 by Friday, March 31, to arrange a ride. Questions and feedback may also be submitted via [email protected]. ACTR’s mission will remain unchanged — to enhance the economic, social and environmental health of the region, by providing community transportation services that are safe, reliable, accessible and affordable for everyone.
