Mount Abe assistant principal resigns, effective Dec. 27

BRISTOL — Mount Abraham Union High School Vice Principal David Ford has resigned, effective Dec. 27.
At its Dec. 20 meeting, the Mount Abe school board appointed Justin Bouvier interim assistant principal.
Ford notified the Mount Abe board in late October of his intent to resign at the end of 2016. The board officially accepted his resignation in late November.
Ford cited family reasons for leaving the Mount Abe leadership position in the middle of the academic year. He said that his family remains based in New York and cannot relocate to Vermont “in the foreseeable future.” Medical issues, Ford wrote, have “made travel and separation difficult.”
“I thank you for the opportunity to work in this position and to serve the students and staff of Mt. Abe for the past year,” said Ford in his letter of resignation. “Please understand that my resignation comes from a need to ease the burden on my family and not from dissatisfaction with my employment.”
