Boys’ soccer players honored by Lake and Marble Valley leagues
ADDISON COUNTY — Fourteen members of the Middlebury, Mount Abraham, Vergennes and Otter Valley union high school boys’ soccer teams have earned postseason recognition for their 2016 play in either the Lake Division or the Marble Valley League B Division.
Four local athletes were named Lake Division First-Team all-stars: Tiger junior goalie Santiago Fernandez, Tiger junior striker Camden Simpson, Eagle senior defender Owein LaBarr, and Commodore senior midfielder Max Ratti-Bicknell.
Two Otters were named All-MVL B Division picks, midfielder Maxwell Williams and forward Josh Letourneau.
A half-dozen players earned spots on the Lake Division Second Team: three Tiger senior defenders, Eli Miller, Harlow Punderson and Lucas Pyle; Eagle defender/midfielder Eli Rickner; and two Commodores, junior defender Ben Kayhart and sophomore forward Ezekiel Palmer.
Two Otters earned honorable mention, senior defender Nathan Audette and sophomore midfielder Ethan Sulik-Doty.
