Eagle football ends season with a loss
MILTON — Host Milton dealt the Mount Abraham-Vergennes football team a 28-12 setback in a Friday Division II clash as the Eagles’ season came to a conclusion.
The Eagles hung with their hosts for the first half, trailing by 16-6 at the break. The Yellowjackets got one of their two first-half scores on an 81-yard interception return, and they added two-point conversions on both their scores.
The Eagles got on the board with quarterback Coleman Russell’s 1-yard run before halftime, but Milton QB Nick Laware threw two second-half touchdown passes as Milton pulled away. Eagle defender Kyle Beatty recovered a Milton fumble in the end zone to create the final score.
