Human remains found in Middlebury on Friday

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury officials are looking to identify human remains found in Middlebury Friday morning.
At 11:43 a.m. on Oct. 21, the Middlebury Police Department received a call from a hiker who reported finding a body in the woods between Court Street Extension and Seminary Street Extension.
The police responded to the area and located human remains.
The Police Department Crime Scene Unit was on-scene with an assistant state’s attorney and the assistant medical examiner early Friday afternoon.
In a release on their Facebook page, Chief Thomas Hanley said police had no information to give on the cause and manner of death nor identification of the remains at that time.
