Maple Landmark to offer factory tours

MIDDLEBURY — Maple Landmark Woodcraft will be offering free factory tours on Friday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in conjunction with National Manufacturing Day. The goal of National Manufacturing Day is to showcase the rewarding, highly skilled jobs available in American manufacturing.
Did you know that every $1 spent in manufacturing actually adds $1.40 to the U.S. economy? And having local manufacturing is a boon to the local economy as well. Many of you know Maple Landmark Woodcraft has been part of the Middlebury landscape for two decades.
But did you know that we employ 45 people? That we were awarded the Spirit of ADA Award by the Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities? That we are the largest and last solely domestic producer of wooden toys? Or that we have a dozen computers that run our wood working equipment? Manufacturing has changed, do you realize how much?
National Manufacturing Day is a nationwide effort to draw greater attention to the outstanding opportunities a career in manufacturing can provide, and promote the pursuit of skills that lead to a long-term career offering security and growth.
Our full factory tours are about 45 minutes in length. On Oct. 7, tours will be given hourly from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., free of charge. For more information or to schedule a particular time to visit, contact us. If you cannot join us on Oct. 7, we are happy to host you during our regular 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily tours.
