Otter Valley eleven routs the T-Birds

BRANDON — The Otter Valley Union High School football team had little trouble with visiting first-year varsity program Missisquoi on Saturday, romping past the winless T-Birds, 65-0.
The Otters improved to 3-2 heading into a key Division III matchup at U-32 on Friday night. The Raiders are also 3-2, and both teams are jockeying for playoff position.
On this past Saturday, senior halfback Brent Nickerson ran for three touchdowns and 130 yards on 11 carries, while new starting quarterback Tyler Rowe, a sophomore, threw three TD passes.
Rowe found Will Ross from 4 yards out, Connor Mackie from 15 yards out, and Tyson Cram from 25 yards out. In all, Rowe was six of nine passing for 92 yards.
The OV defense forced five fumbles, two recovered by Greg Whitney, and Ross blocked an MVU punt and recovered it for a touchdown.
Dylan Mackie ran for two second-half scores, and C’rique Wood added a 32-yard touchdown run to cap the Otter scoring.
