ADDISON COUNTY — The Vergennes Police Department along with other Addison and Chittenden county law enforcement agencies, will be on the lookout for incidents of driving under the influence for the rest of the month.
Those agencies will be conducting DUI checkpoints and roving DUI interdiction patrols in Addison County throughout August.
“We ask motorists to please not operate a motor vehicle if they have been drinking, wear seat belts and do not use any type of hand-held electronic device while driving,” Vergennes Police Chief George Merkel said.
“Please respect all users of the highways, including bicyclists, runners and those using crosswalks. Have a safe remainder of the summer!”
