Opinion: Porter provided excellent service

This past week I had the unfortunate bad luck to develop a very painful ailment that required my husband to run me up to the emergency room at Porter Hospital. Although our hospital has had a rough time this year, I wanted to state that the care that I received was outstanding from the moment I got there by the intake person, to the nurses who speedily got me more comfortable, to the doctor on duty, I even had cozy socks and a warm blanket delivered by a volunteer! After I was normalized with an IV, I was told every aspect of my problem (kidney stone, yikes!), taken for x-rays and told the results immediately and what I could expect.
We are so very fortunate to have this gem of care in our community and I hope it remains here. After the weekend a doctor from the emergency room called me at home to see how I was and ask if I had any questions, which I did, so I was relieved she called. I felt totally cared for and informed during my few hours at Porter and count it as a blessing to all of us who live here that the quality of medical expertise is so compassionate and convenient.
