Middlebury police suspect stabbing was self-inflicted

MIDDLEBURY — Local police in Middlebury are investigating a stabbing incident at a Monroe Street home early Tuesday morning. Their preliminary investigation suggested that the stab wounds were self-inflicted.
Middlebury police were called to the residence at 6:45 a.m. on March 22. Upon arrival, they found a male in the home with several stab wounds in the abdomen. Middlebury Regional EMS took the male to Porter Hospital, and he was subsequently transported to UVM Medical Center in Burlington for further treatment, police said.
The investigation continues, police said.
