MUHS dancers earn third, fourth

VERGENNES — The Middlebury Union High School dance team took third and fourth places for their two routines on Saturday at the Vermont championships, hosted by Vergennes Union High School.
The Tiger team fared best in the Hip Hop discipline, scoring 10 placement points from the three judges to tie with Burr & Burton for third, behind Mount Mansfield (3) and Lamoille (7) in the eight-team field.
Scoring ran differently in Jazz, where Lamoille and MMU tied for first at 85.00, followed by South Burlington at 82.50 and then the Tigers in fourth at 79.00, again in an eight-team field.
Burr & Burton prevailed in the Pom discipline, scoring 4 placement points to edge South Burlington (5), with Colchester in third (9).
