BRANDON — Neshobe Golf Club in Brandon announces that it has hired Chris Saylor as its new golf superintendent. Current Golf Superintendent Nate Dyer will be leaving Neshobe in March.
“It is with mixed emotions that I have accepted a new position as the superintendent at Rocky Ridge Golf Club,” Dyer said. “The new position will allow me to work closer to home, spend more time with my family, and my wife and I are expecting our third child.”
Dyer said Neshobe Golf Club received more than a dozen résumés, making the final decision very difficult. Dyer  participated in the interview process and final selection.
“We were very pleased with the number of qualified applicants that were interested in Neshobe,” said Jeff Wallin, Greens Committee chair. “Nate made the process much easier and in the end we all agree Chris Saylor was the perfect choice for Neshobe.”
Saylor was Dyer’s assistant superintendent at Neshobe in 2013. Dyer said, “Chris was a great asset to me when he worked at Neshobe. He will bring a lot of talent, knowledge and hard work to the table. It is hard for me to move on but it’s nice knowing Neshobe will be in good hands.”
Prior to joining the Neshobe team, Chris worked for nine years at the Williston Golf Club, and for the past two years as superintendent at Mountain View Country Club in Greensboro.
“We thank Nate for his eight years of dedication and attention to detail,” said Peter Breen, Neshobe president. “We all wish him well and hope he will find his way back to play golf at Neshobe.”
Dyer will work directly with Saylor to ensure a seamless transition.
