VCF appoints Rivera interim president, CEO
MIDDLEBURY — The Vermont Community Foundation announced that its board of directors has appointed Felipe Rivera as interim president and CEO, effective Jan. 22. The appointment follows the announcement in early December that Stuart Comstock-Gay, the foundation’s current president and CEO, will be leaving his post after seven years at the helm. Comstock-Gay’s last day at the foundation is Jan. 22.
Rivera joined the Community Foundation staff in 2004 and has been serving as the organization’s vice president for strategy and communications, working with the president and the board to develop the Foundation’s long-term plans to better address the needs of its constituents while raising the Foundation’s visibility throughout the state. Rivera has more than 25 years of experience in the field of philanthropy, having worked in areas of grant-making, program development and communications.
The Community Foundation Board of Directors also named a committee to begin the search for Comstock-Gay’s permanent replacement. The committee, led by Board Chair Tim Volk and Board Vice Chair Jake Wheeler, is planning to hire a search firm in the near future. The committee has set up an email address, [email protected], where the Foundation’s constituencies can suggest names of people who should be considered for the position.
