Opinion: Ilsley seeking new board member

The Ilsley Library Board of Trustees is recruiting a new member for its five-person board.
We are looking for a board member who believes in our mission, that Ilsley “embodies the vigor and ambition of our community. The library is accessible, lively, and inviting to all. It is a hub for learning, public dialogue, and quiet relaxation.”
In the next few years, Ilsley Library will likely be embarking on a capital campaign and building program to support this mission. We believe that this work has never been more important than it is today. We are seeking a Middlebury resident with a background or interest in such work to serve a three-year term.
The position is elected at town meeting. To run, stop by Ilsley or the town clerk’s window to pick up a petition (due back by Monday, Jan. 25, to the town clerk). For more information call Kevin Unrath, library director, at 388-4098 or email him at [email protected].
