Bristol will be host to church bazaars this weekend

BRISTOL — Bristol will be busy with several church bazaars on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4 and 5.
St. Ambrose Church will hold its “Sleigh Ride” Christmas marketplace starting on Friday from 1-5 p.m. and continuing on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The marketplace includes a craft shop, bake shop, wonder jars, silent auction, attic treasures, raffles and more. Friday includes a silver tea at 2:30 p.m., and on Saturday Santa will visit.
The Bristol Federated Church will hold its annual Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The church will offer a luncheon of homemade soups and sandwiches, plus a silver tea, a silent auction, an attic treasures indoor yard sale, and a visit from Santa. Proceeds support the church.
The First Baptist Church of Bristol will hold its Christmas bazaar on Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Look for attic treasures, crafts, Rada knives and silent auction items, plus a homemade soup and sandwich lunch and a bake sale featuring homemade doughnuts, fudge and other delicious goodies.
Besides bazaars, families are invited to dress in their finest on Saturday and visit the Lawrence House Bed & Breakfast at 48 North St. at 1 p.m. for tea with Mrs. Claus. The cost of $10 per child (plus $5 per accompanying adult, required) incudes tea, cocoa and cookies, carols, a story read by Mrs. Claus, a craft to take home and other treats. Space is limited, so tickets should be reserved at the Bristol Rec Department office, 802-453-5885.
Meanwhile, not far from all the Bristol happenings, the Lincoln Library is holding its own bazaar on Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. A select group of items marked “new with tags” or “new without tags,” have been donated to the library for re-sale. Come shop for earrings, necklaces, purses, pins and more.
