Note of appreciation: Empty Bowl Dinner was a success

As the new local food access coordinator for HOPE I was thrilled to attend the Empty Soup Bowl Dinner in early November. The Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op put together a wonderful evening, and I was thankful to see so many folks coming together to try alleviate food insecurity in Addison County through contributions to HOPE and CVOEO.
Specifically I would like to thank Karin Mott and Emily Millard at the co-op for organizing the event along with Glenn Lower. Also thank you to the co-op’s board, staff and volunteers in the community who served that evening. Big thanks as well to Carol Rudinski, Jennifer Smith, and Dave Bachand for the delicious soups they contributed to feed us that evening.
Thank you to Elmer Farm, Four Pillars Farm, Golden Russet Farm, Happy Valley Orchard, Red Hen Baking Company, Otter Creek Bakery and the Middlebury Bagel and Deli for all the local produce, food, and beverage donated that evening.
Last but not least — thank you to the United Methodist Church for the space, Fred Barnes for his musical accompaniment and The Middlebury Studio School and North Branch School for the amazing pottery.
This was such a wonderful event to start off the holiday season and your contributions to our organizations are very much appreciated.
Lily Bradburn, Middlebury
