MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police fielded a complaint from a local woman who feared she was being stalked by another woman in the Court Street area on Sept. 27.
No arrests were made.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS with a patient having a mental health issue in the Painter Road area on Sept. 21.
•  Received a report of an alleged threat that had been made against a Vermont Probation and Parole official on Sept. 21.
•  Ticketed a local juvenile for being a minor in possession of tobacco in the Charles Avenue area on Sept. 22.
•Responded to a report of a man taking the change out of the “Give a Penny/Take a Penny” dish at a Court Street business on Sept. 23.
•  Assisted an Ossie Road resident who had received an unwanted text message on Sept. 23.
•  Responded to a report of a car hitting the front steps at Porter Hospital on Sept. 23. Police said the vehicle had left upon their arrival.
•  Assisted Bristol police in trying to find a vehicle that was the subject of a chase on Case Street on Sept. 24. Authorities have thus far been unable to find the vehicle.
•  Investigated a complaint of a mini-bike driving erratically in the downtown area on Sept. 24.
•  Received a report on Sept. 24 of a man driving a silver Subaru sedan up to a lawn maintenance vehicle at the intersection of Buttolph Drive and Monroe Street and stealing a five-gallon can of gas out of the back of the truck. Police said they were unable to locate the vehicle.
•  Investigated a leaving-the-scene-of-an-accident complaint on North Pleasant Street on Sept. 24.
•  Warned some Middlebury College students about a loud party they were throwing in the Washington Street neighborhood on Sept. 25.
•  Assisted an Ossie Road resident who had received a harassing text message on Sept. 25.
•  Assisted with a child custody dispute in the Court Street Extension area on Sept. 25.
•  Responded to a report of a deceased person at a Sydney Way residence on Sept. 25. Police said the deceased was identified as Manfred Milkuhn, 71, of Middlebury. Police said Milkuhn’s remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Burlington for an autopsy. Foul play is not suspected in the case, police said.
•  Investigated a reported verbal dispute involving some college students in the Washington Street area near Shaw’s Supermarket on Sept. 25. Police said the dispute did not get physical.
•  Found a Middlebury Union High School student to be in possession of alcohol on school grounds on Sept. 26.
•  Responded to a report of a fight between two men at the Middlebury VFW on Exchange Street on Sept. 26.
•  Were informed of the alleged theft of some prescription drugs from a North Pleasant Street residence on Sept. 26.
•  Cited William Schwarz, 40, for violating a temporary restraining order and his conditions of release, following an investigation on South Pleasant Street on Sept. 26. Police said Schwarz was lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center.
•  Were informed that an underage woman had attempted to buy alcohol at the Hannaford Supermarket using a fake identification card on Sept. 26.
•  Were asked to investigate a report of possible child abuse at an Elm Street residence on Sept. 26. Police said the case remains under investigation.
•  Responded to a report of numerous gunshots heard in the Route 7 South/Lower Foote Street area on Sept. 27. Police said they were unable to locate the source of the shots.
•  Received a report of a vehicle damaging another vehicle parked in The Centre parking lot off Court Street Extension on Sept. 27.
•  Assisted with a child custody dispute on Mary Hogan Elementary School property on Sept. 27.
•  Investigated a trespassing complaint at the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street on Sept. 27.
•  Responded to a report of some teens allegedly smoking marijuana on the roof of a Seymour Street building on Sept. 27.
•  Investigated a report of a local man violating a temporary restraining order on Sept. 27.
•  Assisted a local man who reported receiving unwanted text messages from a former girlfriend on Sept. 27.
•  Cited Eric Baker, 40, of Salisbury for driving under the influence, following a traffic stop on Route 7 South on Sept. 27. Police said they measured Baker’s blood-alcohol content at 0.089 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08.
•  Assisted Two Brothers Tavern staff in controlling a group of drunken people who were refusing to leave the premises on Sept. 27.
•  Assisted Bristol police with a suicidal resident in the Pine Street area on Sept. 28.
