Legion baseball comes up short

MIDDLEBURY — Visiting Colchester dealt the Addison County American Legion baseball team a 13-2 setback on Tuesday, leaving AC still in search of its first win of 2015.
AC tied a one-win Montpelier team last week, 3-3, at home, in a game ultimately called because of darkness, and still hopes to make up an away doubleheader at Montpelier that was washed out by rain. AC has also yet to reschedule a home doubleheader vs. Franklin County, also in June, which was rained out.
Only three games remained after Tuesday on AC’s regular schedule, all vs. Orleans-Essex-Caledonia. AC, which has been eliminated from playoff contention, was set to host OEC on Wednesday, and then is scheduled to visit OEC for a twin bill on Saturday.
AC’s highlights on Tuesday included RBI hits by Chris Leach and Calvin Desforges.
