Opinion: Many earn thanks for a successful music festival

On behalf of the Middlebury Union High School Music Department, I would like to thank our incredible community for their support in our hosting of the 88th annual Vermont All State Music Festival.
Four hundred twenty-five students from over 50 high schools in Vermont came to Middlebury for three days of rehearsals and performances. We are grateful for the 200 host homes that were opened for these students. Alumni students/parents and current students/parents helped in a myriad of tasks from helping out with the 25-band parade Wednesday night to serving food and moving equipment.
Our festival would not have happened without the herculean efforts of Hannah Benz, housing chair; Lyn DeGraff, program layout coordinator; Matt Ottinger, food chairman; Sean Farrell and Bruce Macintire, administrative facility supports; Officer Chris Mason, school resource officer; Todd Gordon, ticket chair; Travis Karpak, recording engineer; Rob DeBruyn, parade chairman; Mal Chase from the Middlebury Congregational Church and Bill Ford from the Memorial Sports Center for welcoming us into those beautiful performance venues; the Little Pressroom and East Coast Printers; and our extremely supportive administration headed up by Superintendent Peter Burrows, Principal William Lawson and Associate Principal Catherine Dieman.
Thank you Middlebury and surrounding communities.
