Update: No foul play in death of Middlebury College student

MIDDLEBURY — Police are investigating the death of a Middlebury College sophomore from Colorado who was found dead in a dorm room Thursday morning.
Middlebury police said there is not sign of third-party involvement or criminal activity in the death of 20-year-old Nathan Alexander.
At 9:44 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, Middlebury police and ambulance personnel were called to a dorm at Middlebury College regarding an unresponsive male student.
According to an all-campus email sent out by college President Ron Liebowitz late this afternoon, Middlebury College Public Safety discovered Alexander after receiving a request from a fellow student who was concerned about his whereabouts.
EMT officers responded immediately, but were unable to revive him.
A medical examiner investigated the death on-site, and Alexander’s body was transferred to the Office of the Medical Examiner. Middlebury police also investigated the death, and said there was no sign of foul play. Cause and manner of death are pending examination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
“I know you will join with me in extending our deepest sympathies to Nathan’s family and friends,” Liebowitz said in his email to the Middlebury College community.
“At a difficult time such as this, I encourage everyone on campus to look out for one another.”
