Opinion: Nuovo experienced and pays attention to detail

In uncertain times like this, it is particularly important to elect legislators with proven track records and a clear understanding of the intricacies of the Vermont legislative processes, Betty Nuovo is that person.
As a successful lawyer with 28 years of experience as our representative, Betty is an expert on how to get things done in Montpelier. She knows where the pitfalls lie, and she knows how to clear the way for legislation that benefits Vermonters. She is tough when necessary, but she also understands compromise is essential.
To ensure the accuracy of all proposals before the House, Betty reads every word of every piece of legislation before it goes to the floor. This is a level of dedication unmatched by many of those who vote for our laws. However, it’s not all about Montpelier for Betty. She is also an excellent listener who takes seriously the input she receives as she visits families throughout the district. As one of her volunteer drivers, I can attest to the fact that by Election Day she will have visited over 2,100 homes.
People who know Betty, and that’s lots of us, respect her for her long history of service to Middlebury, as well as for her successes in the capital. She has represented us with honor, intelligence and savvy. The upcoming legislative session will present lawmakers with some thorny, even game-changing, issues. We really need Betty Nuovo to be there to support us as we face the daunting challenges that must be addressed.
Please vote for Betty.
