Entrepreneurs invited to Brandon panel

BRANDON — An exciting new opportunity for entrepreneurs in Rutland and Addison counties will be presented in Brandon on Wednesday, June 5, from 6-8 p.m. at Building J in Park Village, the former Brandon Training School property and future headquarters of the Brandon Venture Center Incubator. Farmers’ market vendors, start-up businesses and established producers looking to grow will find the evening not only interesting but potentially highly profitable as well.
A panel of experts will explore such topics as establishing a commercial kitchen, using innovative new distribution methods; using up-to-date marketing methods; writing a business plan; and incorporating the growing Vermont brand in products or services. The primary focus will be on food products, but the discussion will cover all sorts of small-scale manufacturing.
The panelists are Jamie Stewart, Rutland Economic Development Corp.; Steve Beck, economic development director for Brandon; Kevin Birchmore, president of the McKernon Group; Ed Bratton, owner of the Vermont Fiber Mill; Kevin McNaught, Trevin Farms; and Kim Crosby of Vermont Roots.
For information and directions, call Brandon’s Office of Economic Development at 802-247-5721.
