Bristol woman struck by car, killed as she crosses street
BRISTOL — A tragic one-car accident at the intersection of North Street and Park Place in Bristol on Saturday evening claimed the life of an 86-year-old pedestrian, Ann Roscoe of Bristol.
Bristol police responded to the scene at approximately 5:51 p.m. on Nov. 24. Roscoe was transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, where she died later that evening, according to a press release from the Bristol Police Department.
Ashley Nancollas, 19, of Bristol, was operating the car. No charges have been filed.
“The crash is still under investigation but alcohol and drugs were not a factor,” Bristol police said in the press release.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Sgt. George Crowe of the Bristol police at 802-453-2533.
Roscoe, a Bristol native, was born Ann Bouvier in 1926 and graduated from Bristol High School in 1944. An active community member, Roscoe was a congregant at St. Ambrose Catholic Church and worked as a hairdresser and at the food service program at Mount Abraham Union High School for 35 years (see a full obituary on page 6A).
