Leicester selectboard

LEICESTER — On Town Meeting Day in March, Leicester voters will see a ballot with two open selectboard spots.
Incumbent Ron Fiske will be running to reclaim his two-year position on the selectboard, but longtime board member Robert Oliver will step down once his three-year term has ended, bidding farewell to the board after 19 years.
Oliver said he is retiring after more than 40 years of service to the town between the school board and selectboard.
“I don’t know if I’ve done my share, but I’ve worked at it anyway,” said Oliver.
Leicester selectboard chair Diane Benware said anyone wishing to run for Oliver’s three-year term must file a petition with at least eight signatures at the town office by this coming Monday, Jan. 30, at the end of the day (preferably before 2 p.m., she said).
Leicester voters will also decide whether to re-elect an incumbent town lister and an incumbent auditor, and one other lister position will open up. Benware added that no one has stepped forward yet to run for the position of town moderator.
