Community Forum: Schools penalized in budget battle

While the implementation of Act 127 has been challenging, I feel it has highlighted a larger issue facing Vermont, which is that our current system for education is unaffordable and unsustainable.

Two of Addison County’s three union school districts could find themselves searching for new superintendents early next year.

As a result of steadily declining enrollment and increasing costs, we have reached a tipping point where it is becoming unsustainable to operate our schools as we do now.
