The Otter Creek Audubon Society will host a talk and then a walk in Middlebury next week.
Otter Creek Audubon Society is announcing their annual $1,000 scholarship to the renowned Hog Island Audubon Camp, available to an Addison County educator or teen.
The award is presented to a person who has worked over many years on behalf of the preservation and appreciation of birds, other wildlife, and natural communities in Addison County.
At Otter Creek Audubon Society’s annual meeting and lecture, Amy Weidensaul, Ph.D, senior regional director of Mass Audubon, will speak on “Protecting Nature for Birds and People: Opportunities, lessons and hope from the Massachusetts coast.”

Nature enthusiasts of all ages are invited to take part in a beginner’s bird walk through Wright Park, a segment of the Trail Around Middlebury, on Saturday, June 18, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Teachers of all age levels are encouraged to develop proposals of up to $800 to support the Otter Creek Audubon Society mission of encouraging a culture of conservation.
