Vermonters turned out in force around the state Saturday as part of the nationwide “No Kings Day” protests, championing myriad causes but generally united behind opposing President Donald Trump.
Over 40,000 Vermonters took part in dozens of events statewide, with 16,000 gathered at the largest demonstration on Burlington’s lakefront. Millions more participated in events in every state in America.
After a tense week of ICE raids, demonstrations in many cities, and threats to protesters from some law enforcement entities and the president, the demonstrations were not only massive and peaceful, but also joyous.
