Boys’ hockey defeated by Mt. Mansfield

The Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey dropped its only game between Jan. 10 and 16, a 6-3 decision at Mount Mansfield this past Saturday. 

As Middlebury College basketball teams began NESCAC play, the women’s hoop team picked up two road wins to earn a spot in first place, while the men’s squad settled for a split of two home NESCAC contests. 

In the Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team’s only action last week, the Tigers came up on the short end of a Division II showdown with visiting first-place Hartford, 3-1, this past Saturday night.

The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team won two out of three recent road games, and the Tigers carried a 5-3 record into action this Wednesday.

Host Colchester on Saturday defeated the Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team, 6-5, in overtime, giving the Tigers their first loss of the winter. 

The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team dropped a close road game in the only contest the Tigers ended up playing between Dec. 13 and 19 due to postponements.

Consistent defense and opportunistic offense sent the Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team past visiting Rutland on Saturday night.

The Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team opened the season this past Saturday by topping host U-32, 8-4. 

The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team opened with a 5-1 victory over visiting Stowe on this past Saturday night.

Middlebury College men’s hockey surged passed Conn College before falling to Tufts this past Friday and Saturday.

The Middlebury College men’s hockey team lost and settled for a tie at a tournament hosted by Plattsburgh State this past weekend. 

The Middlebury College women’s hockey outplayed and outshot visiting Plattsburgh in Sunday’s final of the Panther-Cardinal Classic. Nevertheless, the Cardinals went home the winners.
