This food shelf’s Thanksgiving distribution will take place this Friday, Nov. 22, from 5-6 p.m. at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Bristol. The Christmas distribution will take place at the same time and location on Dec. 20.
The Bristol Have a Heart Food Shelf has served a record number of local families during the past few months, a feat the nonprofit has accomplished with help from the Shaw’s supermarket in town.
Bristol’s Have a Heart Food Shelf is teaming up with New Leaf Organics to provide individuals in the 5-town area with more locally grown produce.
Fire departments in Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton, New Haven and Starksboro collected more than 4,500 pounds of food and more than $3,000 for the Bristol Have-a-Heart Community Food Shelf last month.
